The author gives presentations about drift boats and river dories. An enthused speaker he brings his  talks to life with his drift boat and dory models, footage of old boats at work, and his fascinating stories of the personalities behind the boats. His audiences to-date include a variety:
  •  Boat shows, large (e.g. Port Townsend) and small (e.g. Depoe Bay)
  • Sportsmen groups, 
  • Oregon boaters associations
  • Guides associations,
  • High School shop and history classes,
  • Columbia River Maritime Museum,
  • Community forums, and others

An educator at heart, he avoids the didactic approach and instead engages his audience in dialogue, Q and A, and hands-on experiences.

Generally, his presentations are without cost.
